Prof. Dr. Matambalya Prof. Dr. Matambalya is a multi-skilled scholar with theoretical and practical competences in international trade economics, and the broad area of business management. He holds a Ph.D. (1997) in Social Sciences (International Economic Relations, specialising in International Trade) from the Ruhr University Bochum. Other academic qualifications include Master of Science in Business Administration (Johannes Kepler University Linz Austria, 1993), and Bachelor of Commerce (University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania). Currently, he is the Head of Research, Publications and Ph.D. Studies International Small Enterprise Promotion and Training (SEPT) Program. Notable positions, which he has held include, as Professor and Senior Researcher and Lead Expert on International Trade, Africa-European Union Co-operation a regional Integration at the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala, Sweden; Senior Development Consultant at the Headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna; Professor of International Trade and Marketing and Deputy Dean for Research and Publications at the University of Dar es Salaam Business School in Tanzania, Senior Researcher at the Centre for Development Research of Bonn University. He regularly advises many national, regional and international institutions on international trade, industrial development, and intellectual property issues.
